The “heat and stress” is causing me to have acne. I can’t do anything to fight those two, so I resorted to have an online search for ways to treat or prevent acne. I landed at Proactiv website and found out that it is endorsed by famous or well known entertainers; such as Mandy Moore [...]

My Mom Likes Belo
My mom and I had a girl talk nights ago and we have come to a topic about beauty. Here in the Philippines Belo is a well known clinic for beautification.
My mom told me that if ever Belo arrives here in Iloilo, she would surely use their service. I said me too, I just want my keloid skin to be refined so that I will be flawless. She said why not, we will have it when Belo comes here. It got me excited!
ALAS! I could show off more skin if I am flawless.
I hope Belo would come to Iloilo.
Plurk and CSI
Currently, these are the two things that keeps me entertained.
Using the CSI casting photo in my Plurk template is like combining my two addiction for now.
A Plurker Died
I have been addicted into PLURK because I have found a lot of friends there. Last night, I knew that a plurker died in an accident, just after being engaged. In her last plurk, she stated that she is “The Happiest Woman on Earth.”
When her friends knew about the story, they had requested Plurk to have her Karma freeze, but Plurk gave her an infinite Karma (Plurkers would probably know what it means).
She may have died in a tragic way, but I think she died being “The Happiest Woman on Earth.” I haven’t had the chance to know her, but her friends could only say good things about her and I know she is welcomed in the gates of heaven. May she Rest In Peace.
This Morning
My daughter was suppose to have her exam today, but on our way to her school, she vomited. She has a fever last night but even though, we did plan to bring her in school because it is exam day. Well, they are currently at the doctors clinic now to have her check.
On my way to the office I have read a banner on one of the Salons here in Iloilo. It states “Kyocera Copier” then a tag line of “clear Xerox copy here.” I know Xerox is a brand of a copier, but majority of the people here in the Philippines calls “Photocopying” as “Xerox” just as sometimes people would call “Toothpaste” as “Colgate.”
Anyway, during college we often need to photocopy something. I use the word “photocopy” even majority would use “xerox.” It is just funny hearing some people saying this. SAMPLE: “Could I buy a close-up colgate.” – Two brands has been mentioned
What are your experiences about this weird naming thing?
Getting a Philippines Passport for Kids
On my previous post, I have written Steps in Getting a Passport in the Philippines. Now, I would be adding a few informations about getting it for your kid/s.
I noticed that if you will be travelling with your kid, the only requirement they will be getting from you is the application form (fill up), Authenticated Birth Certificate, your kid/s passport picture and a photocopy of your passport.
You will be signing the papers, so you should indicate “by mother.” It is best to have a mother process this if the child is illegitimate.
That’s it! It is easy to get a passport for your baby or kid.
Steps in Getting a Passport in the Philippines
I don’t know if processing a passport for reasons of work would be different than the tourist one, but it is not indicated on the passport. Also, the destination which is being asked in the application form is not written on the passport. I really don’t know if it is an important field or you should just put there what comes first on your mind.
I am from Iloilo and the procedures of processing here might be different in other areas.
Anyway here are the steps I made to have my passport (Reason: Travel):
- Get your authenticated Birth Certificate at National Statistic Office (NSO) or if you don’t like to fall in line and wait, have it delivered to you by applying for it at eCensus. [NOTE: Better to have your original Birth Certificate ready if ever the SECPA/Authenticated Birth Certificate is not a clear copy. If your original Birth Certificate is also not clear, go to the Registry (a government office that processes Birth Certificate and get a green paper copy of your Birth Certificate. The copy must be clear. Then have it photocopy. This will just serve as a support for an unclear Birth Certificate.] The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will take the authenticated birth certificate, so if you want to have an extra copy, get at least 2 copies of your authenticated birth certificate.
-
- eCensus should be opened by Internet Explorer because it does not work well with FireFox.
- Apply for a Certificate [Birth, Death, Marriage and Certificate of no marriage (CENOMAR)]
- Fill up the form correctly
- List down your Batch or Request Number
- Pay it by credit card (it is going to be expensive, read more on its FAQs page), PORT or thru bank (BDO and Union Bank) by following these instructions.
- After the payment has been done, just wait for your certificate to be delivered. You should personally receive the delivery or have an authorization letter for your close relative to receive it.
- If you are married, get your authenticated marriage certificate. The DFA also gets the authenticated copy of this, so if you might need another copy, get at least 2 of it.
- Have at least two valid ID’s. The more, the better. Have it photocopy.
- SSS
- Drivers License
- Company ID
- GSIS
- Voters ID
- Tax ID
- It would be better if you have supporting documents on hand, if ever the ID’s are not enough. Though I was not asked for this because I have submitted enough identification (SSS and Drivers License).
- NBI clearance
- Cedula (Tax Community Certificate)
- Voters Registration (photocopy)
- Transcript or report card from school (photocopy)
- Baptismal Certificate
- Have your passport picture. I suggest you have this taken on the DFA approved studio, which is just beside the office. It is because they are the PROs when it comes to the right angle, right size of picture and facial features that needed on the picture (example: two ears should be visible in the picture).
- Fill up the application form given at DFA or you could download it online and print. In Iloilo, it is given by the guard on the entrance of DFA office.
— These are the steps to be done in the DFA office —
- Submit the completed application form with picture to the guard. In Iloilo, it is the guard who submits the application form to the one who will process it on the later hand.
- Wait for your name to be called for Processing.
- Once your name is called, you should present the documents you have on hand. The processor will just take what is needed and give you back those extras you have.
- If you have insufficient documents, the processor would inform you what you need. Don’t be shy to ask questions if things are unclear to you. Do as you have told then the next time you come, just go directly to the processor; no need to submit the application back to the guard.
- Wait for your name to be called on the cashier.
- You have an option to pay Php 500 for regular processing or Php 750 for a faster processing.
- Your receipt won’t be release after the next step.
- Wait for your name to be called on the encoding.
- You will be instructed to review the informations from 1 – 6 which involves your name and your birth date.
- Be sure your name is spelled correctly.
- Go to person assigned to help you on thumb printing.
- This person will help you sign things needed to be signed and have your thumb print correctly placed on the document.
- This person will give you the receipt you have paid on the cashier indicating the date when you will claim your passport.
- Wait for your name to be called for finalization.
- At this point it is either you will be informed to go home or there is a question on your documents.
- If there is a question on your picture, you will be asked to have it taken again. After the picture has been taken, go directly to this office where your picture was questioned. Submit the new picture and then wait for their approval. Once it is okay, you could now go home.
- If you don’t want to go back at DFA office again, have it delivered to you thru LBC. They have a station inside the DFA office.
- It costs Php 100.
- Fill up the form they have.
- Input an address in where you stayed most of the time. If you go to an office, it is better you input your office address so that you could receive it personally or have an authorization letter to have your relative receive it on your home address whenever you are not around.
- Input your mobile number so that they could contact you if ever they need some instructions on getting on the address given.
- Give the DFA receipt to them.
- Get the LBC receipt as proof of your transaction.
- You are now finish. Just wait until the day you claim your passport on DFA or wait for the delivery.
Employees of the Government
I just had a chat with my classmate during college, who is currently working at the government office. He proudly say that he is one of the web developers of http://www.iloilocity.gov.ph/ (I am not even gonna link the site up).
He says his salary is Php 30,000 as one of the web developers. Please check the site, it is not even fixed! He said that they are busy getting money from the donations from the calamity that just happened. But honestly, even before the storm, the site has a lot of errors.
I confronted him asking that for 30K a month, what are they doing that the site is not fixed. Well, he admitted … they do friendster, chat, etc. BUT NOT WORK!
Well, our web developer here in the company have a salary of just Php 12K/month, but I coud say that their work is worth to be proud of.
I am just pissed that these Government employees are abusing their position and not doing their job well. THIS IS WHERE OUR TAXES GO?
Great to have Dependents on Tax Exemptions in the Philippines
A great news for those who have dependents. From Php 8,000 deduction on TAX for each child, it is now Php 25,000.
Check: News
I have two of my children as my dependent, so that is already Php 50,000 savings for me.
Let’s check the expenses I have for my daughter alone:
- During her study at St. Joseph as a toddler – her tuition is Php 24,000. That is for a 2 hour class everyday from June to March.
- She drinks milk that costs Php 1,500 every can. She could consume 1 can every week.
- If she is sick of asthma, then a dose of medicine that would probably cost us Php 5,000 at the minimum. With this, I tell you, our doctor is for free (she is a grandma of my daughter – cousin my children’s grandma on their father side).
- A ballet lesson of about Php 2,500 every month. Including her ballet shoes and tights.
- Also shirts, dresses and shoes since kids grow fast
See? The Php 50,000 savings on Tax is not even enough for just one child! Good thing I have my parents to help me in everything.
Now, planning on a first birthday of my son next month. — Everyone is invited
I’ll post details when I have finalized the venue.
IF YOU HAVE KIDS … I SUGGEST YOU SHOULD JOIN THE PARTY! It will be on June 18, 2008 @ 3:00 PM on somewhere within Iloilo City, Philippines.
An Essay of a Korean for Filipinos
I have taken this from the blog of my friend Lorie: Pilipinas, sana matauhan tayo. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THIS DESERVES A RE-POST!
As you know, we have plenty of Koreans currently studying in the Philippines to take advantage of our cheaper tuition fees and learn English at the same time.
MY SHORT ESSAY ABOUT THE PHILIPPINES
Jaeyoun Kim
Filipinos always complain about the corruption in the Philippines. Do you really think the corruption is the problem of the Philippines? I do not think so. I strongly believe that the problem is the lack of love for the Philippines.
Let me first talk about my country, Korea. It might help you understand my point. After the Korean War, South Korea was one of the poorest countries in the world. Koreans had to start from scratch because entire country was destroyed after the Korean War, and we had no natural resources. Koreans used to talk about the Philippines, for Filipinos were very rich in Asia. We envy Filipinos. Koreans really wanted to be well off like Filipinos. Many Koreans died of famine. My father & brother also died because of famine. Korean government was very corrupt and is still very corrupt beyond your imagination, but Korea was able to develop dramatically because Koreans really did their best for the common good with their heart burning with patriotism. Koreans did not work just for themselves but also for their neighborhood and country. Education inspired young men with the spirit of patriotism.
40 years ago, President Park took over the government to reform Korea. He tried to borrow money from other countries, but it was not possible to get a loan and attract a foreign investment because the economic situation of South Korea was so bad. Korea had only three factories. So, President Park sent many mine workers and nurses to Germany so that they could send money to Korea to build a factory. They had to go through horrible experience. In 1964, President Park visited Germany to borrow money. Hundred of Koreans in Germany came to the airport to welcome him and cried there as they saw the President Park . They asked to him, “President, when can we be well off?” That was the only question everyone asked to him. President Park cried with them and promised them that Korea would be well off if everyone works hard for Korea, and the President of Germany got the strong impression on them and lent money to Korea. So, President Park was able to build many factories in Korea. He always asked Koreans to love their country from their heart. Many Korean scientists and engineers in the USA came back to Korea to help developing country because they wanted their country to be well off. Though they received very small salary, they did their best for Korea . They always hoped that their children would live in well off country. My parents always brought me to the places where poor and physically handicapped people live. They wanted me to understand their life and help them. I also worked for Catholic Church when I was in the army. The only thing I learned from Catholic Church was that we have to love our neighborhood. And, I have loved my neighborhood.
Have you cried for the Philippines? I have cried for my country several times. I also cried for the Philippines because of so many poor people. I have been to the New Bilibid prison. What made me sad in the prison were the prisoners who do not have any love for their country. They go to mass and work for Church. They pray everyday. However, they do not love the Philippines. I talked to two prisoners at the maximum-security compound, and both of them said that they would leave the Philippines right after they are released from the prison. They said that they would start a new life in other countries and never come back to the Philippines.
Many Koreans have a great love for Korea so that we were able to share our wealth with our neighborhood. The owners of factory and company were distributed their profit to their employees fairly so that employees could buy what they needed and saved money for the future and their children.
When I was in Korea, I had a very strong faith and wanted to be a priest. However, when I came to the Philippines, I completely lost my faith. I was very confused when I saw many unbelievable situations in the Philippines. Street kids always make me sad, and I see them everyday. The Philippines is the only Catholic country in Asia, but there are too many poor people here. People go to church every Sunday to pray, but nothing has been changed. My parents came to the Philippines last week and saw this situation. They told me that Korea was much poorer than the present Philippines when they were young. They are so sorry that there are so many beggars and street kids. When we went to Pasangjan, I forced my parents to take a boat because it would fun. However, they were not happy after taking a boat. They said that they would not take the boat again because they were sympathized the boatmen, for the boatmen were very poor and had a small frame. Most of people just took a boat and enjoyed it. But, my parents did not enjoy it because of love for them.
My mother who has been working for Catholic Church since I was very young told me that if we just go to mass without changing ourselves, we are not Catholic indeed. Faith should come with action. She added that I have to love Filipinos and do good things for them because all of us are same and have received a great love from God. I want Filipinos to love their neighborhood and country as much as they love God so that the Philippines will be well off. I am sure that love is the keyword, which Filipinos should remember. We cannot change the sinful structure at once. It should start from person. Love must start in everybody, in a s mall scale and have to grow. A lot of things happen if we open up to love. Let’s put away our prejudices and look at our worries with our new eyes. I discover that every person is worthy to be loved. Trust in love, because it makes changes possible. Love changes you and me. It changes people, contexts and relationships. It changes the world. Please love your neighborhood and country.
Jesus Christ said that whatever we do to others we do to Him. In the Philippines, there is God for people who are abused and abandoned. There is God who is crying for love. If you have a child, teach them how to love the Philippines. Teach them why they have to love their neighborhood and country. You already know that God also will be very happy if you love others. That’s all I really want to ask you Filipinos.
Andy Inside the Pinoy Big Brother House
The plus house mates in Pinoy Big Brother House are pretty girls. They have a task to reveal the real side or attitude of the guys. Will the two pretty girls win this task?
Aside from Shy, we have now Andy. Andy is actually Jacklyn Jose’s daughter that is starred on Prinsesa ng Banyera as Sandy. From there, I already noticed this beautiful young lady. For me, she looks like Angel Locsin, just chubby
Also, the rumor about Josef’s GF … and her blog… here’s her post:
OHMYFUCKINGGOD.
Seriously, I am THIS close to stabbing some random stranger. What the fuuuck. He couldn`t answer. WHY COULDN`T HE ANSWER? If I was in his place I would`ve given an answer in 2 seconds flat. Okay, I`m convinced that this is no longer paranoia. I HATE THIIIIS. ALL OF THIS. Thank you to those who post conversations. I am learning more and more. And you can bet that it`ll make my decisions easier for me.
I CANNOT GET OVER THIS. I SIMPLY CANNOT.
I KNEW IT. It`s either he already likes her or he`s going to like her. FUCKING FLIRT. AND OHMYGOD, HAS ANYONE NOTICED THE WAY THEY LOOK AT EACH OTHER? It`s how two people who share “something special” look at each other. Motherfuckingshit.
My eyeliner is smudged and I look like a fucking madman on the loose. And I have been smoking like hell. Lung cancer, anyone? I`m practically burning with RAGE.
Tell me, HOW THE *** AM I SUPPOSED TO TRUST MY BOYFRIEND WHEN HE`S ACTING LIKE A COMPLETE ***?
Thank you world for completely screwing me over. I can now die, thankyouverymuch.
And to think I had a dream last night that Big Brother gave me 20 minutes with Eli cause it was our monthsary. HAHAHAHA.
TAKE NOTE: I`m laughing not cause I`m happy but cause I have lost my mind.
Now, EVERYTHING MEANS NOTHING.
Putangina. Killmenow.
JOSEF naman, how could you?
I cannot believe this. I cannot fucking believe this.
All I can say is WHAT THE ***. Seriously. I will not say mean things about that girl here, I`ll just keep them to myself. But really, what the ***. Sooper boy d mo Eli.
I can`t believe this. No, I can`t believe YOU. You`re such a disappointment. I knew that this Pbb thing would be a bad idea.
And yes, I was right.
DOESN`T SHE HAVE A BOYFRIEND??
AND MAYBE IT SLIPPED HIS MIND BUT HE HAS A GIRLFRIEND TOO.
What the ***. Putangina. Wala na. While watching that scene, I couldn`t help but cry.
Understand me, I am waiting. But I don`t exactly know if I`m waiting for something. Yun pala wala na tapos mukha nalang akong *** dito.
I don`t know how I`m supposed to feel. Up until today, I was so sure that he was mine no matter what happens inside Pbb. But now, I`m not sure about anything anymore.
Yes, maybe it`s the pain talking or the bitterness, but every word I say right now shows how I`m really feeling. Because right now, I don`t know how I feel. Here I am again, back at square one. I`m stuck in a rut and I have no idea how to get out of it. Good luck to me sleeping tonight. No, good luck to me on getting past this.
I was okay with the whole Pbb thing, I really was. Well, duh. I`m working my ass off just to promote Eli. AND TAKE NOTE: I`M NEVER NORMALLY LIKE THIS. ONLY NOOOW. And this is how he repays me?
I am hurt. I am BEYOND hurt. Hurt is an understatement. I am not being petty, believe me.
I know Eli, I know pag may dinidiskartehan siya. And we started off a as best friends. AND NOW THEY`RE “BEST FRIENDS”?? HOW THE *** AM I SUPPOSED TO FEEL?
Now his words mean *** to me. They really do. I let him join because I trusted him and I was sure that he loved me. Now, I don`t know anymore. Well, fine. He may have my name on his arm, but really, does that mean ANYTHING AT ALL now?
I`m just frustrated, okay? I just want to let this all out. I just want to vent. I just want to be alone and cry my eyes out. I just want him back.
PUTANGINA TALAGA.
Pero to all my friends and to all my new found friends (Eli`s fans.) :
Thank you. Seriously, thank you. Your comments and text messages cheered me up. But I`m still fucked up, but nevertheless, they meant something. Sorry to those who texted tapos di ako nagreply, I`m too torn up to reply. But sooper thank you. Sa lahat ng magandang comments and sa lahat ng advices. Sa lahat din ng positive messages. I love you all for that. But right now, I just need time to think and asked myself if this is what I really want.
Jesus Christ, help me. I don`t know what the hell I want anymore. I don`t understand him. Usually, I can read his mind. But now, malabo na eh. Lahat malabo na.
*** THIS LIFE.
I thought he`d be different. UGHHHH. I don`t want to tell Peter in the end na, “sana nakinig nalang ako sayo.” I WANT TO BELIEVE THAT HE`S DIFFERENT. I DO. BUT NOW, THAT`S NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE. I am broken right now. And I need to straighten my thoughts because really, this is unacceptable to me. It really is. I may or may not eat my words after a day or two, but right now, THIS is how I feel. I FEEL SHITTY. And I have every right to throw a *** fit right now cause I hate what I`m seeing. And I hate the way I`m feeling.
And Eli, why can`t I read your mind?
WHYYYY?
I have a million questions with no answers. I want to shoot myself in the head cause I`ll be up all night asking myself, WHY.
You know I love you. Oh God, at least I THINK you know that.
This is bullshit. It really is.
But after all that`s been said and done, you know you`ll always be my number one.
I just want to escape reality. Take me away, please?
Hey there, I know it’s hard to feel like I don’t care at all.
Where you are and how you feel with these lights off as these wheels keep rolling on and on (and on and on and on)
Slow things down or speed them up,
Not enough or way too much, (and on and on and on)
How are you when i’m gone?
So cut my wrists and black my eyes (cut my wrists and black my eyes)
So I can fall asleep tonight, or die.
Because you killed me,
You know you do, you kill me well, you like it too and I can tell,
You never stop until my final breath is gone.
Spare me just three last words,
I love you is all she heard,
I’ll wait for you, but I can’t wait forever.
