You don’t need strength to let go of something. What you really need is understanding.

The “heat and stress” is causing me to have acne.  I can’t do anything to fight those two, so I resorted to have an online search for ways to treat or prevent acne. I landed at Proactiv website and found out that it is endorsed by famous or well known entertainers; such as Mandy Moore [...]

Effective Teaching for my Daughter

Posted By Junelle on August 22nd, 2008

I am having a hard time teaching my daughter and getting her attention to focus on studying. Then I remember the Kung Fu Panda story. The master was having a hard time teaching the Panda on a regular way, while later he realized that the Panda already have the skills, but only when food is involve. So the master taught the Panda what he needs to learn with the help of food.

My daughter loves chocolate, and I thought maybe same strategy would be effective for her. So, I tried it last night. We studied her lessons, and when she gets the right answer, I give her one piece of coated hershey kisses.  IT WORKED! She is excited to answer the questions given to her and wait for her reward. She also detects colors correctly by the color coatings of the hershey kisses, because I told her that she could only eat those kisses whom she could name the correct color coatings. So far she knows red, yellow and blue. That seems to be a good start.

Academically Intelligent People are not so Learned at all

Posted By Junelle on August 20th, 2008

My daughter is just 3 years old and a brat as I always say. She wanted to do things on her own way and does not enjoy studying at all. If she gets a hint that she is being taught, she would make a scene just to get out of that situation.

My daughter is a kid, studying as Kinder 1 in a private school in where I graduated my elementary and high school and I know she needs to be taught academically, but is it necessary that she would be full focus on her academic subjects and left her other activities hanging? She is a KID and I wanted her to enjoy life, because time is gold and she will never be a kid again.

I enroll her on ballet because she loves to dance, and she loves to show off her ballet skills whenever she plays with our neighbors.

My mother doesn’t have enough patience to teach my daughter things she needs to learn about her subject in school. And so do I. That is why I let the family on her father side take care of her during school days and teach her what she needs to learn. I was expecting they would do that, plus the fact that her other activities won’t be affected – her ballet. Her ballet class is only once a week and not even for an hour. But, they choose not to let her attend her ballet class because they wanted to teach her some academic lessons.

As I mentioned, my daughter does not enjoy studying. So it would be useless to force her to study and left the activity she likes most unattended.

With this, I will be reminded that the family is too easy to give up, or too easy to get out of responsibility. May they find peace with that kind of mental capacity.

Anyway, a friend of mine told me that he knows someone that is lazy to study during elementary to high school, but when college came, the person graduated Cum Laude.

I don’t study as well. I was brought up with no tutor, no help from anybody. I remember when I was young I used to ask my mom to help me with my assignment, but all she could tell me is that “Your lessons are too advance, we don’t have like that before and I don’t know what to teach you.” With that, I learn things on my own, and I am proud I was able to. I am just an average student, yet with the ability to learn things on my own. I have been put to a position in where I manage people. Yes, a manager for an average lazy student, now a hardworking professional.

I know a lot of people who studies hard, even memorize a book, but they do not succeed in life. Why so? Not everything is written in the books, but mind could explore so many things without having a book. Where did people get the idea to make a book anyway, to invent something unusual, to have an internet, etc. Did they read it from books? I don’t know, I am not fun of reading.

Anyway I am just expressing something here. Thanks for reading.

It is not really about studying, it is enjoying life as it is and learning while doing so.

One of those Bad Days

Posted By Junelle on July 18th, 2008

Yesterday was somehow a bad day for me. Here are the reasons why:

  • I went out during lunch time to have something delivered. When I got back I saw my MacBook displaying the screensaver. I moved my mouse to have control over it. I was able to see me desktop, BUT everything seems to be moving on a VERY SLOW MOTION. Whenever I click, it seems to have taken more than 1 minute before the MacBook could read my actions. I tried to restart it but it won’t shut down. I have taken the battery out and put it back again. I pressed the power button and the booting that takes seconds before, now takes more than 30 minutes to boot. Still, it is slow and takes more than 1 minute before it reads my commands. MY MACBOOK WAS BROKEN >>> I AM REALLY BUYING A NEW LAPTOP!
  • My jelly shoes almost fell off, because it was broken as well. I did my best trying to hold it on to my feet so that I could go home with ease.
  • While I was trying to fix my MacBook (I really don’t know what to do with it, so I just keep on restarting and putting it on a cooler area), my daughter threw a piece of garbage into the floor. My patience run off ————. Poor daughter of mine, but this morning she was hugging me. I love my daughter!

Somehow, I couldn’t say I ran out of luck because you see …

  • I am lucky enough to still have my MacBook turn on to get my files if I wanted to.
  • I am lucky enough that my shoes was not broken all the way and that I was still able to somehow fix it.
  • I didn’t break any bones on my daughters body.

My mother complained that I bought an expensive shoes for my daughter. Well, I really don’t know why she is complaining, BUT maybe because I bought a shoes that my daughter likes and the shoes that she bought was not good enough.

Also, my daughter is kind of fashionista. Check her posing :)

Last June 29, 2008 (Sunday), my son had his first haircut. Me and my Mom decided to have him bald, because he often perspire and his head is often wet.

Here he is after the haircut:

Still Having Problems With The New Theme

Posted By Junelle on June 24th, 2008

There are errors on my new theme, and I am working on it on my extra time. Some errors are the pages that is not viewing properly and the blog name in where needs some adjustment.

Again, I hope everything would be done by the weekend.

Due to storm that hit Iloilo, there is currently no power in my house and therefore I would be staying at the hospital because my son was admitted again.

Please pray for the recovery of my son and good health of my kids. Thank You!

Kid Loves Cars

Posted By Junelle on June 19th, 2008

In early sixties, the only American sports car was the Corvette. It is too expensive for the majority of people. Because of this, Ford created a sports car that will fit its price and affordable for the majority.

Kids now a days loves cars and I know that in the future they will be the one riding or preserving this precious machines.

My nephew likes cars and he learned colors through it. My friends son also live cars and he reads magazines about cars. My son loves to drive, and I wonder if he will like cars as well, he seems interested to maneuver the wheels.

As years gone by, Mustang has preserved its quality of being affordable in a sense that its price is just right and has the quality and design that really catches the interest of many.

If you are a car lover and like mustang, check http://www.americanmuscle.com/browsebyyear.html for the list of mustang by year.

On Leave

Posted By Junelle on June 16th, 2008

I will be on leave starting tomorrow, until June 19, 2008. This is for the party of my son. I have planned a big party for him, but due to unwelcome circumstances, the budget has been lowered down.

Rest assured, children will enjoy what I have prepared. (or should i say — I hope so)

If you are in Iloilo, join us: June Hector’s First Birthday.
