The “heat and stress” is causing me to have acne.  I can’t do anything to fight those two, so I resorted to have an online search for ways to treat or prevent acne. I landed at Proactiv website and found out that it is endorsed by famous or well known entertainers; such as Mandy Moore [...]

Employees of the Government

Posted By Junelle on July 4th, 2008 | 3,087 views

I just had a chat with my classmate during college, who is currently working at the government office. He  proudly say that he is one of the web developers of http://www.iloilocity.gov.ph/ (I am not even gonna link the site up).

He says his salary is Php 30,000 as one of the web developers. Please check the site, it is not even fixed! He said that they are busy getting money from the donations from the calamity that just happened. But honestly, even before the storm, the site has a lot of errors.

I confronted him asking that for 30K a month, what are they doing that the site is not fixed. Well, he admitted … they do friendster, chat, etc. BUT NOT WORK!

Well, our web developer here in the company have a salary of just Php 12K/month, but I coud say that their work is worth to be proud of.

I am just pissed that these Government employees are abusing their position and not doing their job well. THIS IS WHERE OUR TAXES GO?

  • I guess those in the higher position knows about this ... it is their own negligence if they don't.
Anyway, those government official just want to have as many friends as they could, so they tolerate those acts. If not, only a few would vote for them.

  • Maldito

talamak man gid ang mga amo na nga ubra sa gobyerno..its so sad that we are not getting the equal result of what we are paying for the tax. Hope Mayor will know about this.

  • It is such an irony that in other Countries, Filipino are known to be "masipag" but in our own, we could see those who have work, but are "tamad."
Do we need to go out of our Country para matawag tayong masipag?
Ako, honestly I work day and night. I kill my body just to earn ... and indeed "I CODE for FOOD"

May those "tamad" be given what they are worth ... and give chances to those who deserve to have a job.

  • Efren

I'm not from iloilo and upon seeing the site you mentioned, its really terrible, i pity those who made it. Sometimes sa dami ng "magagaling" na PHP developers, naniniwala na ako sa kantyaw ng iba: "I code PHP for FOOD.." or "I code HTML for FOOD".. etc...

Tell them to go to HELL!

  • Subay, hanggud nga salamat! GID!

Junelle, hope it's good karma for everyone. We all need relief from all the bad news.

  • Well tani lang ang nag ubra sa iloilo.gov.ph mabulig man sa iloilocity.gov.ph kay isa man lang ta ka lugar ... and mainly the office of iloilo.gov.ph is situated man sa iloilocity.gov.ph :)

    PEACE LANG PEOPLE!

There's always a Karma waiting for everyone ... So let US just do our best in everything :P Good karma will be waiting for us.

    Subay,
kabalo ko kun ano ang subdomain. I also know that all government offices are under gov.ph including the President’s. So evry website under the government falls under this Villorente person, as you say.

But iloiocity.gov.ph is different from iloilo.gov.ph in the sense that they both are being maintained by a different office under the government. Thus, by different groups of people. Gets mo? Critcize the right peron. That’s all I’m saying.

I was just pointing that out because the original post named iloilocity.gov.ph.

And may I just say that not all government employees are self-serving. I could name a lot of self-sacrificing individuals in government. They are few and far between, but they are honest people. It’s people who elect people into office. And it’s the elected people who put the wrong people in positions, not the rank and file. So it’s a matter of voting for the right people.

Bottom line is, iloilocity.gov.ph hired/assigned an incompetent person... Kahuluya sang sistema sang banwa tah...And another thing is, the server is not secured, anybody can hack the site and the whole system itself. Hey Iloilo people, diri naga kadto ang aton taxes sa web developer nga gna swelduhan 30K / month for having his time spent at friendster site. Tani mabunggu-an ka na lang karon mig kung sin-o ka man nga web developer! even a dull Webmaster can do your site, wala ka mahuya?

  • heads up! whoever owns --.---.---.---

    port open 2086: gnunet (2086/tcp)
    http://gnunet.org/ ( read )

port 2086 is used as server for p2p network :) lol

  • But iloiocity.gov.ph is different from iloilo.gov.ph in the sense that they both are being maintained by a different office under the government. Thus, by different groups of people. Gets mo?

    # i know, im a Server Admin and i know whats like inside,

Critcize the right peron. That’s all I’m saying.

    # well hindi mo na gets ang ambot ko silingon, what im pointing out is indi gani secure ila HOST meaning wala gid gin bugetan ang pag ubra sang gov.ph how much more under lang sila sa amu na nga account? incompetent na daan ang puno pati ang mga sumulonod amu man gihapon meaning wala na pag asa...

like for example sa imu site.... ( a shared hosting of DREAMCODE DOMAINS )

http://www.du****line.com/ to access your cpanel you need to go http://72.232.182.130:2082/ or http://www.du****line.com:2082/ but are you aware of http://krisia.dnsdream.com/[port removed to security] ? thats your WHM main server portal, that server who host several accounts
    ff: harsh***low.com, hnu**msci.net, pin**md.net, ch**ys.net, pino**ealth.net, mob**slogic.net, pin**writers.net, robin**eb.net, ibad**ign.net,
if SERVER 72.232.182.130 get hacked all of this websites will be deleted hasta imu.... so may control ka? so ang mas mayo is secure gid sang tag iya sang rack "72.232.182.130" ang ila server para d ma dalasa asta imu site, just like what's on *.gov.ph they are all under gov.ph they are just subdomains, they need to fix the problem from THE ROOT ;)

if you feel this is incorrect you can try http://layer0.layeredtech.com/ and ask :)

oi btw your host is being used as spam host :P if you use your website email address its not 100% you can send email using that one to some host who use SORBS blacklist filter for email spam

    http://img99.imageshack.us/img...

    and 72.232.182.130 listed here: http://antone.geckotribe.com/a...

PS: this result is not 100% accurate... this maybe not your host info if your server use ip stealth technology

  • May this be an awakening to all ... Vote Wisely!

  • Thanks SUBAY ... if I were in the Government, I'd take this as a challenge to DO BETTER if not the best ... to please the people they SHOULD SERVE!
People serving the Government" nga tani "Government should serve the People."

I hope the web dev of http://www.iloilo.gov.ph would help out in http://www.iloilocity.gov.ph

  • cge bahala nada sila pa gastosa nalang sila sang kwarta natun... mabalik naman dyapon sa ila :P

  • to ilongga70,

kabalo ka sang gina tawag nga subdomain? maski iloilocity or iloilo man ina basta under sa account nga gov.ph isa lang na ka host gets? what im trying to pull out is, they dont even have enough budget to hire a good Security Analyst or Security Tech Support for Maintenance, so where does our Taxes go? we are paying high tax and we deserve good service or i can say "WE DEMAND GOOD SERVICE" since we are honest taxpayers and we pay our taxes duly, since the host is poorly designed, what do you expect for content? syempre CHEAP FREE CMS.... city or the government itself dont have plan to hire team of php developers and make there own system! oh come on.. we have lots of I.T. graduates who can do better... anu ni ya palakasay? "Like Ryan Said kung kilala si Prov. Administrator" tsktsktsk to mister iloilo developer tani d kalang ma sakitan coz amu ina ang kamatuoran :)

this is one of the reason recently many goverment sites are being defaced due to poor budget and they hire incompetent developers "bato bato sa langit sana ang ma tamaan wag ma galit"

PS: by the way nice blog theme miss Junelle nami sya sa mata tama ka calm :)

  • I have to admit -- http://www.iloilo.gov.ph is indeed WAY BETTER!

  • Hey wait a minute. I thought we were criticizing the Iloilo City Government website (www.iloilocity.gov.ph) and not that of the province (www.iloilo.gov.ph)? Read original post again.

I think the province has a better website and less dead links. Miskan Joomla man ina, at least mas updated kay sa City. Don't you think?

  • @Ryan - damo man abi milagro gakinatabo da.
@wakookooo - I am not hisa coz I am earning more than that iho :) The thing is na init ako kay kadako sang sweldo nila wala sila inubrahan ... I am not against friendster or kung ano man da stress reliever nila ... amo na kung stressed sila sa pag work ... BUT ... have you seen the site? TOO MANY DEAD-LINKS! I just wonder kung ano gina stressed out nila ... stressed out sila kay sakit mata nila sang friendster?

    [no offense meant]
If its true then nugon gid sang tax namon eh.
Isa pa, la man dra guro may ma lain kugn mag prendster
of kugn anoh ano pa kung matapos mho man

    and developers alike.

Administrator!

  • Well ... I think maybe he is one of the exceptions :) We all know that our governor earns more than 30K / month :)
As I have heard, after a few days of asking for help for the victims Bagyo Frank, the site alone has gathered 2.5 Million Pesos. I just hope they will give it to people deserving and NOT into their pockets.

  • He can't be earning 30k a month unless he's the governor. Me thinks he's lying and pulling your leg. I'm a government employee and I know for a fact that people in government are mostly underpaid. Well, maybe exceptions to those who really have the political clout. And except when they have other means of income (legal or illegal).

  • Yes, even I who have a few knowledge in doing websites and php could do that kind of site ... even better ... (hambog) he he he well HONESTLY ... all of us in our company ... and the web dev I know could really do better ...

  • actually the design is also very "Simple" a freelancer can do that web design

  • Anyway I hope the program "Mamamayan muna hindi mamaya na" would work on this situation.

  • It's so sad to say ... "what's new?" I remember going to UP to pay off fees and the person at the desk who had her feet propped up while she was eating a sandwich said, "I'm on break, come back at 4PM." It was 3PM when I got there.

  • Let us all apply! I think we are all better than those in the position now. Too many dead links ... is that a work of a professional? My GOSH ... 30K!

AGAIN ... THIS IS WHERE OUR TAXES GO!

  • tnc

pwede ko apply dha.. sa ilo2x gov.ph 30k man kaha.... huhuhuhuhuhuhu bisan... 20k lang... ok ra....
