Knowing Thyself
During college, our psychology professor explained to us that “It takes a LIFETIME knowing thyself.” It has been studied and a lot of philosophers died with that quote.
That is why I believe in it.
Last week, I have encountered a person whom I thought was selfish enough not to accept advice from others because she seems confident and might be comfortable of her life now. She is twenty-three years old (she is two years younger than I am).
I met her at twitter and checked her profile. I went into her blog, and saw something that I could relate to – I made a comment. However, she misunderstood my intention … or she has taken it personally thinking that I somehow was degrading her (something like that). She told me, my advice was unsolicited and that she knows SEO stuff coz she has been doing it for a long time. Okay, I seem to be a newbie compare to her, but then I shared to her this story:
A very wealthy successful man and his kid was talking, then suddenly the rich man saw a janitor, he stopped and talked to the janitor. When he was finished, his son asked him.
Son: Dad, why do you always spend time and talk to those kind of people. They are poor, uneducated and not worthy of your time. They have no worth at all.
Rich Man: Son, every one is unique. Everybody in this world has a purpose and is of equal worth. You may know things that I don’t, and I may know things that you don’t. The janitor have something that we don’t have, and that is worth something.
Again, she misunderstood my intention. This is her reply when she realized my intention:
coz while i perceived it that you implied na i’m an elitist pig like malu fernandez, you may have implied that “we can learn from each other”.
All in all, from my first impression of her being a SELFISH person, she reached out to me and gave effort in understanding my opinions … and the person that I am as a whole … so SHE HAS TURNED OUT TO BE A GOOD FRIEND TO HAVE.
Sometimes, we encounter things like this … and I am GLAD she was patient enough to reach out to me even if I have mistreated her (I told her she is a selfish person and that I have no time for such, but she accepted that compliment – WHAT A GIRL).
I may hurt people at times, but I think you have to reach out to me, TO KNOW THE REAL ME – MY INTENTIONS – EVERYTHING. I am not afraid of being interrogated now. My life is open to everyone. That is the reason I have this blog, to share a bit of me to you … and hopefully someone would learn from my experience.
If you want to know me better, you could have a chat with me or email me:

I will be happy to answer your questions if you have.
PLEASE DON’T JUDGE ME ON WHAT OTHER PEOPLE SAY ABOUT ME … YOU HAVE TO GET IN TO ME TO KNOW ME … A LOT OF PEOPLE DO HATE ME … AND SOME MAY RUIN ME, JUST TO CLEAN THEIR NAMES … ASK ME … I WILL ANSWER YOU!
