My Baby Ate Two 1 Peso Coins

I woke up this morning with the cry of my baby, and my mother shouting. At first I thought my mother was just scolding my daughter - again. Then I sat on my bed and saw my baby vomiting.

My mother said; “She was playing with your wallet and she swallowed a coin.”

I panicked seeing the two 1 peso coins she had vomited.

“Let’s get her to the hospital.” I told my parents, as I carried my baby.

“Just to be sure if there is still a coin inside her or not,” I added.

I panicked because just a week ago, I have heard that the classmate of my 6 years old nephew died because he had swallowed a 25 cent coin, which is much smaller than a 1 peso coin. His mother didn’t mind because her son seems to be okay, until the 3^rd day that the incident happened. Her sons’ stomach bloated, and when he got him to the hospital, it was too late.

I don’t want this to happen to my daughter. So we immediately went to the hospital. We called our pediatrician along the way. Just to know what’s the proper thing to do. She informed us to just get an X-ray of her body from mouth to stomach.

Upon arriving at the hospital we went to the X-ray department and processed things as fast as we could, because my baby had a phobia in the hospital.

Thankfully, there is no more coin inside of her and she seems to be okay.

We ate breakfast at Jollibee, because my daughter wants to eat spaghetti.
