The “heat and stress” is causing me to have acne.  I can’t do anything to fight those two, so I resorted to have an online search for ways to treat or prevent acne. I landed at Proactiv website and found out that it is endorsed by famous or well known entertainers; such as Mandy Moore and Justin Bieber.

To verify if indeed those stars are endorsing Proactiv, I searched for videos because now-a-days it is so easy to edit pics and put it on a website. I found one video with Justin Bieber saying “Wanna know why my fans talk about my hair and not my zits? ‘Coz I don’t get zits. Wanna know why? ‘Coz I’m Proactiv.”

I think this product is the solution to my problem and if you are a Bieber fan with a zit, you have a chance to Win Justin Bieber concert tickets when you buy a Proactiv Kit at Proactiv Online Shopping Cart (http://my.proactiv.com.ph), Proactiv Door to Door Delivery Hotlines (729-2222, 1-800-8-729-8888, 1-800-10-889-4444, 0917-801-8888) or Proactiv Kiosks in malls (Glorietta, Ground Floor/Trinoma, 2nd Floor/Robinsons Galleria, 3rd Floor/Marquee Mall, Ground Floor) from February 15, 2011 to March 30, 2011. I know a lot of teenagers  have “Bieber fever” would be buying Proactiv. So, is it safe to assume that within 60 days there would be a lot of zit-free teenagers?

Proactiv acne and pimple fighting skin care solution currently have 2 treatment system;

My Say About Cough Medicines

Posted By Junelle on December 12th, 2010

Three days ago, my friends Ella and Karrie who are working in Cavite came home for a short vacation. It was raining when they arrived here in Iloilo, so they asked me if it was raining before they got here and I answered no, it has not rained for a long time.

As I expected, stressed from work and travel plus the change of climate, after a day of being in Iloilo Ella is already coughing. We went out that night even if she is not feeling well. Our friend Lizanie came late also coughing, because of this we discussed about the vitamins we are taking and how we medicate ourselves when sick. They mentioned they are taking vitamin C for stress and I, on the other hand just drink plenty of water to wash out any unwanted chemicals on my body, until last week when my cousin has given me herbal medicine which she mentioned could keep me healthy but have a note “No Therapeutic claims” on its container. Ella and Lizanie told me that they started taking vitamin C because someone was selling it to them on their workplace on a discounted price. I think it is a great idea for companies selling medicines, to get thru to companies and sell its employees vitamins that they need to keep them healthy. Who wouldn’t want a discounted medicine? Health is wealth and so, most people would probably take this bait.

Our discussion made me remember the time when my son was coughing my parents were arguing what medicine to give him. My Dad insist on giving my son a syrup he was taking and my Mom was sticking on doctor’s prescription. My Dad believes that the syrup he has works better than the medicine prescribed by the doctor. I am with my Mom to go on with the doctor’s prescription.

My Mom and Dad are examples of people who got different opinions influenced by advertising. I know my Mom had bought a medicine once, because she admires the celebrity endorser. I had tried a medicine because I was intrigued of the way the product was promoted or advertised. Dad probably got the syrup he had because he had seen it on advertisement as well. Each of us would see advertisements differently, base on our own experiences in life. One might bite the bait of an ad, while others wouldn’t. For me, as always despite the effectiveness of an advertisement to catch our attention, it is best to check with our doctor first.

I am a person who had a grandfather who is “manghihilot” and grew up my Mom medicating me by heating a “kusay ” and putting it round my neck like a necklace. I believe in the powers of herbal medicines but also aware that a doctor knows best.

What are your take on Synthetic vs Herbal cough medicine?

Toughest Jobs in the Philippines

The Search for the Toughest Jobs Philippines

Department of Labor and Employment, together with the People’s Champ Manny Pacquiao and Alaxan FR launched The Search for the Toughest Jobs Philippines last May 26, 2010. The search was created to honor Filipino men and women who face the challenges of their jobs with pride, resiliency and toughness. Atty. Allan Montaño, National President for Federation of Free Workers (FFW) mentioned that the project is also to recognize the need for protection on those hard or tough jobs.

Undersecretary Rosalinda Baldoz, Cluster Head of Labor Relations

"The labor sector requires enhanced support from the DOLE and all other sectors and it is in the spirit of partnership between the private and public sector that will create solutions and opportunities for human capability and development." - Undersecretary Rosalinda Baldoz, Cluster Head of Labor Relations

The search is open to all working Filipinos and will run from May 26, 2010 to August 21, 2010. Each participant must log on to www.toughjobsphilippines.com, register and upload a picture explaining why they have the toughest jobs. Entry who gets the most number of votes online will win the competition and will bring home a trophy and cash prize.

Manny Pacquiao is indeed the best model for this project for he takes pain as part of his job and what else could be better than Alaxan to take that pain away? Alaxan FR contains Ibuprofen and Paracetamol, which is two of the most widely used and trusted pain relievers by doctors worldwide. It is used for the relief of mild to moderately severe pain of musculoskeletal origin. You won’t have the pain in looking for it, because it is available at leading drugstores and supermarkets. Aside from Manny Pacquiao endorsing it, relatives and friends had given me good testimonials. So when I had a headache after the event, I tried it and it worked – headache gone.

Cebu, CDO, Davao and Iloilo Bloggers

Bloggers at the launching of The Search for the Toughest Jobs Philippines

It was such an honor for me as a blogger to be invited during the launch of this project. I could not help but think, that bloggers deserves to be nominated as one having a tough job for we are considered as the new media, and we have to deal with most of the stressful things media does. Unlike traditional media, where they would have cameraman, researcher and a host for one event, a blogger could simply be a package all in one; we are our own cameraman, researcher and host. I remember when I joined my friends who are a travel bloggers in one of their adventures in discovering places to promote tourism in the Philippines. We climbed a hilltop with an almost-unbearable heat of the sun to have a picture of that beautiful spot. Even tougher my friends really went to the edge to have a better view, without any safety harness on them and just a simple wrong move could cause them their lives. I was just looking at them and couldn’t go to the edge in fear of heights and thinking if we have insurance if ever something bad happens. I guess my friends are tougher than I was and thankfully everyone was safe after that adventure, plus a smile being delivered to our audience whoever found those priceless pictures taken by my fearless blogger friends.

Though a bloggers job could be tough, I guess a doctor’s job is even tougher. What could be a tougher job than holding someone’s life in your own hands and dealing with the pain of losing it if things didn’t turn out as you expected? As I have watched a TV series about doctor’s last week, a surgeon was even blamed for a death of a persons loved one and in the process killed all other surgeons he could find in revenge. I know it was just a TV series, but it is not far from reality. Doctors do get blamed for the death of someone, even if they had tried their best to save every life they could. Tough isn’t it?

It is time to do our reponsibility

Posted By Junelle on April 30th, 2010

As the highest form of animal God has created, for He has created us from his image and likeness, we as a human being has been given a responsibility to take care of all God’s creations. Sadly, not all of us are doing our responsibility. If there are people who strongly care about our environment, there are also those who do not care at all.

We are all connected, one-way or another, even the smallest particle of God’s creation is important. As the authors of the “Red List” say, “The world has changed and is changing so much due to climate change. Our biodiversity is among our most important assets to ensure our resilience amidst these changes. We must start with our endemics because they are the most significant indicators of our environmental health, thus, our capacity to adapt to climate change.” Red List has 29 Philippine fishes listed as extinct and detailed information about each fish are also written there. A fish that most Filipino knows, dilis is in the red list. Isn’t it alarming? Who would have known that dilis is extinct.

There is a limitation to everything and extinction is one way of saying that the limit has been reached and we have to do something to fix it.

I am thankful to LopezLink for bringing this to my attention, know I have been awaken from a long sleep and it is time for me to do something. Because of this, I Like the Facebook page of LopezLink. This post is the start of my journey of doing my responsibility as a human being and I suggest you do the same. It is time to wake up and encourage everyone to do something to save our planet. Saving fishes could be our starting point into saving the whole of God’s creation.

A Cheesy Bayanihan

Kraft Eden

Kraft Eden

Cheese is one source of nutrients. Therefore, it promotes good health for family. With the health benefits we could get from eating cheese on a regular basis, it is best to spread cheese recipes that we know.

On December 14, 2009 Kraft Eden will attempt to set a Guinness world record for crafting 5,000 dishes out of cheese, breaking India’s record of 4,668. Cooking enthusiasts, culinary students and chefs will gather for a battle royale featuring Kraft Eden products.

Share your cheese recipes now, to contribute on this record breaking event. I have done my part by being a member and submitting a Cheese Pimiento recipe. Upon signing up, I was able to receive an email containing a Yumm Gift Pack Coupon which I could exchange for a surprise gift during the event.

I have chosen to submit Cheese Pimiento, because it is one of the famous cheese recipes and kids love it. We always have this menu every party we have at home. My cousin was the one who taught me this and she knows a lot of cheese recipes. I would surely invite her to join and convince her to submit cheese recipes that she knows. Share yours as well.

A cheesy nation, is a healthy nation.
