The Mac Way
I am struggling in learning things from windows user to apple mac machine.
Here are the things I have learned so far: (Bookmark this page if you find it helpful.)
Create a Screenshot on Mac OS
- Apple (Command) Key +Shift+3 = A screenshot of the whole screen.
- Apple (Command) Key +Shift+4 = Use your mouse to choose what specific part of the screen you would like to capture. [Your mouse pointer will turn into a cross. Press the mouse button and drag to select the part of screen you want. Release the button and that part would be captured. Press "esc" to release.]
- Apple (Command) Key +Shift+4 then press Spacebar = Allows you to select which window to capture.
Programs I use (FREE):
- Komodo Edit – Source code editor. The best I have used so far.
- FileZilla 3.0.6 – I am using Mac OS X 10.4.11 upper version of Filezilla does not work on this OS. FTP software.
- MAMP – localhost
- Skitch – screenshot, upload online
- Skype – instant messenger for client contact
- NEO Office – for word editing, spreadsheets, etc
- Bean – for live word count to do my PTB tasks
- Yahoo Messenger – for client and friends contact
- Google Earth – to view locations all around the world
